The Scottsburg cross country teams took on a deep and competitive field Tuesday evening at the Dragon Den Invitational, hosted at Silver Creek. Both the boys and girls squads showed strong efforts against some of the area’s top programs. Boys Recap Junior Kameron Reed paced the Warriors with a standout run, finishing 16th overall in the boys’ race with a time of 18:01. His finish put him among the top local runners in a race won by Silver Creek’s Ryan Graham in 16:36. Sophomore Gavin Curley turned in a solid performance as well, crossing the line in 19:50 for 44th place. The boys’ race featured dominant team running from Silver Creek, who captured the team title with 30 points, followed by Brown County (50) and Christian Academy of Indiana (103). Girls Recap On the girls’ side, senior Brooklyn Moon led the Warriors, clocking 24:43 to finish 34th overall. She was followed by senior Briley Bary in 25:54 and junior Addison Eldridge in 26:33, with junior Addison Elliott rounding out the Scottsburg group in 27:40. Looking Ahead While the Warriors did not post a full team score on either side, both groups gained valuable racing experience against strong competition. The performances from Reed, Moon, and their teammates continue to show the program’s growth as they prepare for the Mid-Southern Conference meet and the postseason.
